Personality: When you first meet Yukiko, she seems to be the type of person that while friendly, keeps a distance from most people. She's beautiful, smart (always at the top of her class), has boys chasing after her (asking her on a date is known as the Amagi Challenge - it's certain to be unsuccessful, though it doesn't stop them from trying), and has a few friends, but between school and her commitment to her family business, that's all that she has time for. She's a busy girl, and she's devoted to her work. She's going to inherit the Amagi Inn, and she needs to work towards that goal, right? That's certainly how it seems.
After she's pushed into a television and appears on the Midnight Channel, she's forced to confront her Shadow. The Shadow hits on the other party members, and in particular, calls Chie Satonaka (Yukiko's best friend) her "Prince Charming" and begs for her to save her, because she's too weak to do it herself. The real Yukiko begs the Shadow to stop saying things like that, but they're actually all true, on one level or another; they're insecurities that she feels. She feels like she's trapped, with regards to her personal situation. She actually doesn't know if she wants to follow in her family's footsteps, but she feels too weak to change them. She thinks Chie is a lot stronger than she is, and always has been - hence the Prince Charming moniker.
The rest of the party reassures Yukiko that she's stronger than she thinks and that she'll be able to change things if she wants, and that makes her able to accept those insecurities as a part of herself. After that point, Yukiko becomes a much livelier girl on the whole. She smiles a lot more, and her habit of giggling incontrollably at bad jokes is revealed to the entire group. Despite her good grades, Yukiko can be a little bit ditzy at times - sometimes things fly over her head that she really should get. She has a little bit of a competitive streak, too.
Along with this comes a new desire to become more independent so that she can do what she wants after she leaves school. She reveals that she's actually a terrible cook, using the protagonist as a guinea pig for her experiments in cooking in order to become better at it. (It's implied in one of her endings in Persona 4 Arena that despite her best efforts, though, she never completely manages to shake off the Lethal Chef problem.)
By the end of the game, Yukiko decides that despite how much she's been working on getting more independent, she really loves the town of Inaba. She really loves her family business, too, as shown when she angrily defends it against a group of tabloid reporters who want to spread a negative story about it. She decides to stay in the town after all, and continue working on her cooking and such so she can be the best manager of the Amagi Inn she can possibly be.
Yukiko's bonds with her friends also deepen over the course of the game. By the time Persona 4 Arena begins, she's realized that she cares a lot for all of the other members of the Investigation Team. When the Midnight Channel appears again after going silent, her first reaction is a deep concern for all of them. She's reluctant to fight them in the Mayonaka Arena, because she doesn't want to hurt her friends. That includes her newest friend, Labrys, who she looks forward to seeing again after she leaves Inaba.
Abilities: Yukiko is a
Dia - Light HP recovery. 1 ally.
Agi - Light Fire damage. 1 foe.
Maragi - Light Fire damage. All foes.
Fire Boost - Increases Fire damage output by 25%.
Fire Break - Nullifies Fire resistance for 3 turns. 1 foe.
Fire Amp - Increases Fire damage output by 50%.
Agidyne - Large Fire damage. 1 foe.
Maragidyne - Large Fire damage. All foes.
Full Bloom - Yukiko poses as Konohana-Sakuya barges in and knocks the opponent into the wall. The aura explodes in their face and sends waves of petals at the them and kills them.
Since P4A is set after the main P4 timeline, if possible, I'd like to make some skill substitutions so that Yukiko's Persona is a little more balanced, both of which come from its original skillset in P4:
Rather than Fire Amp, I'd like to substitute Diarahan, (Full HP recovery. 1 ally.), and rather than Full Bloom, I'd like to substitute in Mediarahan (Full HP recovery, all allies).
Sample Entry: "Okay, I'm here in this weird tower. Someone just told me to be happy here. I...have no idea where I am, but let's see if I can find everyone."
That was simple enough, right? At least Yukiko thought it was. The way out of the dorms was easy enough to find, even without any kind of map. And there was what looked like...well, it didn't look like a computer, not really, but it looked like some kind of tablet hooked to the wall. That would work!
"All right, how do I work this thing," she murmured to herself, taking it from its stand. It wasn't that Yukiko didn't know how to use a computer; she was fine with sending text messages and emails, even doing some online shopping now and then. It was that she didn't know how to use this particular computer, not offhand. "So the 'video' button should send a video message, right? Let's see..."
Normally, she would have been right. But today, it didn't pull up a video. It pulled up what looked like some kind of game screen. "Huh? No, I didn't tell you to open up a game," she said, trying to figure out how to exit out of it. That only served to send her character forward.
"Can I not exit it till I beat it? Okay, games are definitely more Yosuke's thing, but how hard can this be?" Some instructions flashed up on the screen. "Find eight pages. Well, that seems easy!" She moved the character forward, and the first of those pages popped up.
Then the music changed, and the character in the game started to breathe heavily. "What the...?" So this was a scary game? It still wouldn't let her exit, so she moved forward. The heavy breathing continued, and with the second page, she could hear what sounded like a heart beat. There was a grove of trees in front of the game screen, and -- was that something out there?
"WHAT IS THAT?!" With a scream, Yukiko pushed the tablet back into its place, letting herself slide down against the wall.
Maybe she should have just gone looking, instead.
